ThunderCloud Crossing Karelia gets her kennel name from combining ThunderPaws and Cloudburst. She was whelped November 19, 2000, by Boryeal's Patent Pending (Chaska) at ThunderPaws Chinooks, Richalene Kelsay's kennel near San Diego CA. Her sire is Cloudburst Crossing Starblaze (Songo) owned by Kristi Parker Celico in Dillon CO.

She is the pick of the litter of the first fourth generation puppies born under the U.K.C. approved Chinook Owners Association CrossBreeding Program. When she is two years of age, we will make application to U.K.C. to declare her a purebred Chinook. She must have acceptable OFA and CERF ratings, as well as a U.K.C. Northern Breed judge's opinion that she meets the U.K.C. Chinook standard.

She flew to Maryland in January of 2001 and has been the exuberance in our household ever since. She loves toys, plastic bottles, and playmates. She learned to swim her first summer and soon climbed on a water mattress! She's learning obedience and will begin to show soon.

She made us especially proud at the Chinook National Specialty in September 2001 by winning BEST PUPPY, then BEST FEMALE, then BEST CROSS. She will be bred between two and three years of age. We're in the market for the perfect stud.
